Peterborough 2014

Pictures to follow.

The NCH won the Bitch Championship with the Unentered Grapevine. She was wonderful in the ring & won not just on perfect conformation but on her presence and showmanship. To win the Championship bitch class at Peterborough is a great feat. In the history of Peterborough there have only been two other instances when an Unentered bitch has been named Champion. The last time it happened was over 20 years ago! It was a terrific moment when Grapevine was named Champion, there was a great deal of suspense over would she or wouldn’t she get it as an unentered bitch. When her name was called out there was great excitement & cheers.

We did well in other classes too. With the bitches we were 2nd in the Entered Two Couple Class with the unusually coloured (for us) red speckled Rachel, Raindrop, Rattle & Raven. In the Best Couple of Unentered we were awarded Reserve/4th with Granny & Grapevine. We then put forward Grapevine on her own in the Special class for Unentered bitches and she was selected as Champion Unentered bitch. It was certainly her day!

In the Doghound classes, Caliph won the Best Stallion Hound class. We were 3rd in Best Two Couple with Bodmin and his progeny: Greatcoat, Greenwich, & Gripton. And we were 3rd in Best Couple of Unentered dog hounds with Dorchester & Droitwich.

Senior NCH Inter-Hunt Relay Team won. The team was comprised of Yvonne Goss, Chris Davey, Millie Mather & James Clark. Prize money was £1,000 which according to the entry sheet is paid directly to the winning Hunt. Well done to all of them - this team (with slightly varying members each outing) has been winning & placing all summer!
